STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Virginia C. (Ginny) Boros, 76, of Parlin, N.J., a native Staten Islander and a loving mother and grandmother, died Wednesday in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, N.J.

She was born Virginia Milius in Tottenville, and grew up with her siblings at Mount Loretto, where her father worked as a butcher. She returned to Tottenville as a teenager in 1954 and graduated from Tottenville High School. She relocated to Parlin in 2006.

Mrs. Boros worked for the Parks Department and OTB. She retired in 2000.

She treasured time spent with her grandchildren; caring for her son, John Brady; watching Yankee games; trips to Saratoga Springs, the tracks at Monmouth Park, N.J., and Belmont, N.Y., and listening to music, especially Elvis and Dean Martin.

Mom had a heart of gold and would often help anyone in need. She was loved and we will miss her terribly, said her son, Alan Brady.

Mrs. Boros was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.

Along with her sons, John and Alan, surviving are her son, Michael Boros; her daughter, Mary Schweikert; three brothers, John, Edward and Joseph Milius; three sisters, Mary Eagle, Rosemarie Stolpinski and Ella Milius, and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be Monday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Arrangements include cremation.

Services: A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Bruial on Monday July 8, 2013 at Our Lady Help of Christian R.C. Church.

Visitation: Friends will be received on Saturday 7/6 and Sunday 7/7 Fron 2-4 & 7-9 PM
