Former Staten Islander Vincent Pisani, 78, of Amityville, L.I., a retired supermarket manager, died Thursday in Southside Hospital, Bay Shore, L.I.
Born in Brooklyn, he moved to Charleston about 10 years ago, before settling in Amityville four years ago.
Mr. Pisani was a graduate of Brooklyn's Lafayette High School.
He worked for 30 years as a manager of A&P supermarkets in Brooklyn, and later managed Key Food supermarkets, also in Brooklyn, for 10 years. He retired in 2000.
Mr. Pisani was a member of the Tanner Park Senior Center, Copiague, L.I.
A devoted family man, Mr. Pisani enjoyed baseball and was an avid Yankees fan. He coached Little League teams at Brooklyn's Gil Hodges Field for many years.
Mr. Pisani was a graceful dancer and fine singer.
He'd entertain all the people at the senior center. He was always the life of the party, said his daughter, Jo Ann Maldarelli.
His wife of 53 years, the former Penny D'Angelo, died in 2009.
Surviving, in addition to his daughter, Jo Ann, are his son, Stephen, and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, both in Tottenville. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
