Vincent Antonucci, 72, of Annadale, a retired Richmond County assistant district attorney, sports enthusiast and loving family man, died Friday in Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, he also lived in Eltingville before settling in Annadale 30 years ago.
A graduate of Most Holy Trinity High School in Brooklyn, Mr. Antonucci earned his bachelor's degree from Fordham University, the Bronx, and his juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law, Manhattan.
He began his legal career with a private practice in Canarsie, Brooklyn. He later became an assistant district attorney in the Richmond County District Attorney's office, a position he held for many years until retiring in 2009.
Mr. Antonucci was a member of the Richmond County Bar Association and the Columbian Lawyers Association.
He loved sports and was an enthusiastic New York Mets and Jets fan. He also enjoyed playing softball and basketball. He will be remembered for his fun-loving nature, his family said.
Mr. Antonucci enjoyed traveling with his wife, Angela Pizzirusso, to Gallipoli, Italy, where the couple would spend a month each summer.
He also was fond of playing sports with his grandchildren and going to their sports and other events.
Surviving, along with Angela, his wife, are his son, Brad; his daughter, Elena Delaney; a sister, Marie Yannaco, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, both Tottenville. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
