NYPD detective, loving husband, father, and grandfather
Tony E. Flynn passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Nov. 3, 2018. He was born in Spartanburg, S.C., and was raised in Brooklyn. He moved to Staten Island in 1978.
He was a proud member of the NYPD for 22 years working as a homicide detective.
Tony loved spending time with his family especially during the holidays. He enjoyed boating, the theatre, music, traveling, and relaxing on his deck overlooking the water at his lake house.
His strength to go forward throughout his years of illness was fueled by his love and devotion to his three small grandsons.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years , Elaine, his loving children, Erica Fiore and son-in law, Christopher, Jamie Flynn, his siblings, Diane Campo, Deborah Brown, Edward and his cherished grandchildren, Braden, Flynn, and Jake Ryan Fiore, and his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Patricia Conway and families. He was predeceasd by his sister, Marilyn.
Funeral from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial is at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
