Lifelong Pleasant Plains resident Thomas J. Tolino Sr., 49, a machine operator and devoted grandfather who loved boating, died Friday at home.
A graduate of Tottenville High School, he worked as a machine operator on Staten Island.
In his leisure hours, Mr. Tolino enjoyed being on the water in his boat, the Hey Hon.
Most especially, though, he loved being with his grandchildren.
Mr. Tolino was also a very spiritual man, very close to God, said his son, Thomas Jr.
He attended St. Thomas the Apostle R.C., Church, Pleasant Plains.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Jr.; a daughter Danielle Tolino Aswad; two brothers, John and Kevin, and four grandchildren.
Arrangements, including cremation, are being handled by Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, Pleasant Plains.
