STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Thomas E. Riley, 68, of Annadale, a loving family man who was active in the Knights of Columbus, died yesterday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, he moved to Grymes Hill in 1970 and to Annadale in 1976.

He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from St. John's University, Grymes Hill.

Mr. Riley served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961 to 1966, stationed at Parris Island, S.C., and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

He had a 34-year career as a manager for Consolidated Edison at its Livingston headquarters, retiring in 2000.

Mr. Riley was a dedicated member of the Stolzenthaler Council, Knights of Columbus, which he had served as a past grand knight, former district deputy and past chapter chairman.

"He was a man whom everybody loved and he was good to everybody he ever met," said his wife, the former Catherine Mangan.

In his leisure time, Mr. Riley enjoyed golf and other sports, traveling and swimming in his backyard pool.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.

Surviving, along with Catherine, his wife of 40 years, are his sons, Thomas, James and John.

The funeral will be tomorrow from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 9 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
