Former Tottenville resident Thomas D'Antonio, 60, of Matawan, N.J., a business owner and former bartender who enjoyed coaching Little League, died Sunday at home.

Mr. D'Antonio was born in Brooklyn. He moved with his family to New Dorp as a child and graduated from New Dorp High School. He moved to Tottenville in 1996 and lived there until 2013, when he relocated to Matawan.

Mr. Dantonio was a bartender for many years on the Island, at bars including at Talk of the Town in Great Kills. He then opened TCMD Corp, an indoor and outdoor maintenance company.

He volunteered as a coach and manager at South Shore Little League for more than 20 years. During his tenure many of the teams that he mentored went on to become all-star teams in the major division. He enjoyed coaching and helping immensely, and later helped maintain the fields.

He and his wife, Theresa, were married at the ballfield in 1997.

An avid sports fan, he rooted for the New York Yankees and football Giants.

Mr. D'Antonio also enjoyed participating in fantasy sports leagues, going to the racetrack and attending his grandson's sports events. He enjoyed visits to Atlantic City with his wife and spending time with his family.

Surviving, along with Theresa, his wife of 18 years, are his daughter, Melissa Arbitrio; his stepdaughters, Melissa Gallo and Elaina Toti; his stepson Frank Toti III; his sister, Lillian Linder, and three grandchildren.
