Great-grandmother of 10, owned Avino's Restaurant
Theresa Joy Kenney, 85, died July 14, 2017.
Born on Staten Island, Theresa lived in New Dorp, and then Tottenville. She owned Avino's Restaurant in New Dorp Beach. She later was a clerk for the Department of Motor Vehicles, retiring in 1996. She graduated from New Dorp High School.
Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She enjoyed current events and doing crossword puzzles.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2005.
She is survived by her children, Robert Kenney, Lisa Kenney-Remini, and Irma Kenney; her sister, Vivian Johnston; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral is from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Thursday at 9:30 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment is in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may visit today, Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
