Stefano (Steve) Tufano

January 1, 1934 – February 19, 2023

Stefano (Steve) Tufano passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2023. 

Stefano was born in Naples, Italy and immigrated to the United States with his father and siblings on October 28, 1954, at the age of 20.  He was born to Raffaele and Speranza Tufano.  Stefano was the second oldest of 13 children.

Stefano worked for many years as a longshoreman.  He had many hobbies which included farming in his backyards in Brooklyn, hunting, and making his own wine.  He enjoyed drinking his wine and eating the fruits and vegetables he grew and got great pleasure in sharing it all with family and friends.

Together with his wife Josephine, their family grew.  The memories of Stefano will live on through his loving and devoted wife Josephine, his 2 children and their spouses, Ralph (Monique) and Annamaria (Gary) along with his 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Steven, Gary (Kristin), Stephen, and Stephanie, and 2 great grandchildren, Sienna and Luca.  Stefano also leaves behind his loving sister Irene and his 3 brothers Sal, Manny, and John, his brother-in-law Nino (Hollace), sister-in-law Monica, and many nieces and nephews.

Stefano will be remembered as a kind man always willing to share anything with everyone and anyone who needed help.  His door was open to all.
