Scott Kain
1964 - 2019
Scott Kain passed away peacefully on April 2, 2019, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Westerleigh, S.I., he attended PS 30, IS 51 and graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1982. Scott worked for Dow Jones Telerate for 13 years from 1985 to 1998. In 1997 Scott opened Scott's Armory Inn Restaurant and owned and operated it until 2010. The Armory Inn was his biggest accomplishment. It allowed him to spend more time with his family, especially his mom, Suzanne, and father, George, who were both always there to help. In 2007, Scott and his wife, Stephanie, opened The Cellar Lounge next door to The Armory Inn.
Growing up, he played basketball, baseball for Mid Island and football for SITTL, where he met so many lifelong friends. Scott had a lot of hobbies, but there was nothing he loved loved more than coaching at Line Drive Baseball with his nephews, Thomas and Mark Jr., and his brother, Mark. He always considered that family time.
His pride and joy were no other than his daughter, Allyson, and his wife, Stephanie. He absolutely adored both as he would always say, "What did I do in my life to deserve you both?" He constantly bragged about his daughter and all her accomplishments, as well as his wife and calling them both gifts from God. He lived his life with dignity and compassion and was always there for anyone who needed a hand. Scott will always be known for his quick wit and his big smile.
