Ruth Elise Hall Kennedy

Ruth Elise Hall Kennedy, age 99, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Eger Healthcare Center, Staten Island, NY

Ruth was born on June 9,1923, in New York to the late Myron W. Hall and Elizabeth Hall.  She graduated from Valley Stream H.S. and from the Guggenheim Dental Clinic, School of Dental Hygienists.  She was a Dental Hygienist for the Elmont School District before working in private practice.

She was a long-time member of the Valley Stream Methodist Church,  Bellport Methodist Church, and present member of the Reformed Church of Huguenot Park, SI, where she was an Elder and past member of the church consistory.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 40 years, Herbert C. Kennedy; infant son, Thomas Kennedy; brother, Myron Hall.

She is survived by her children Karen Kennedy Travis (Jim), Kathleen Kennedy Gerardi (Sal), Kim Kennedy Norbury, and Kevin Myron Thomas Kennedy.   Grandchildren Sean Travis (Tammy),

Dyan Brown (Zach), Eric Norbury, Corinn Kennedy, Carly Kennedy, Kyle Kennedy.

Step grandchildren Anthony Gerardi (Nicole), Amanda Gino (John).

Great grandchildren Ella Travis, Abby Travis, Edelen Travis, Harper Travis,

Cora Brown, Anthony Gerardi Jr, Gabriella Gerardi, Gianna Gino, John Gino.

Ruth believed in contributing to her community and making a difference in the lives of  her family and friends.  She was a Girl Scout leader for many years in Yaphank, LI, NY.   She taught Sunday school at the Bellport Methodist Church, she was a member of the Yaphank Historical Society, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Longwood Library Association.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 20 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral home, 7447 Amboy Road, Staten Island.

Funeral Services for Ruth will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 21 at the Bedell-Pizzo funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Rockville Cemetery, Merrick Rd and Ocean Ave., Lynbrook, LI.
