Rosemarie A. Whyte (nee DiStefano) of Rossville died Nov. 5, 2016, at the Addeo House Hospice.
A native Staten Islander, Rosemarie was born in Port Richmond and also lived in Huguenot and Rossville.
She was a graduate of Port Richmond High School and The NY Institute of Dietetics. Rosemarie was a dietician at Staten Island Hospital. She also worked at Lutheran Medical Center and St. Joseph by the Sea High School. She worked as a receptionist at the Annadale HIP.
Rosemarie was a past president of the P.S. 5 and I.S. 7 (Bernstein Intermediate School) PTA as well as a past vice president of Tottenville High School PTA. Rosemarie was on the auxiliary of the South Shore Little League and was the first female president of the South Shore Babe Ruth League, where the John H. Whyte Memorial Field is named after her late husband.
Her husband, John H. Whyte Sr., died in 1968.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen, Mark, John Jr. and Matthew; daughters, Margaret Mary Whyte and Frances Anne Dolcimascolo; two sisters, Bernadette Bevan and Frances Mary Vitagliano; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral is from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Rd., on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Rossville at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Addeo House Hospice.

Visitation: Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home Tuesday, November 8, 2016 & Wednesday, November 9, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9PM
