Rose Nelson

Rose M. Nelson (nee Monsees), 86, died on Dec. 31, 2016, in Eger Nursing Home.
She was born in Staten Island and was a lifelong Staten Islander. She worked at Richmond Memorial Hospital from 1980 to 1995, and was also a homemaker.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Chester Nelson, on Nov. 9, 1970; her brother. John Monsees and her sister, Dorothy Golup. She is survived by her children, Gerard, Jimmy, Debra Thiemer, and Diane Witko; her sister, Margaret Brown; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Road, is on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph R.C Church-Rossville. Interment is in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
