Rose Ebro, 87, of Tottenville, a homemaker who will be remembered for her dry sense of humor and love for her family, died Tuesday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.
Born Rose Fava, she grew up in Brooklyn, where she graduated from the former Girls Industrial High School.
In 2000, she relocated to Tottenville to live with her son Raymond and his family.
Mrs. Ebro was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always strived to create a loving and happy environment for her family.
She was a member of the Mount Loretto Friendship Club and enjoyed attending the club's holiday parties and scheduled trips. She also enjoyed knitting, playing cards and bingo.
Mrs. Ebro especially enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends.
She was a generous and kind women, she always treated me as if I were her own daughter, said her daughter-in-law, Denise Ebro.
Mrs. Ebro was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.
Surviving, in addition to her son, Raymond, are her husband of 63 years, Ray; her daughter, Ava Marie Ebro; her sister, Elizabeth Mineo, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, with a mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, both in Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
