Robert J. O'Riley, 67, of Charleston, a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed time with his family, died Wednesday in his home.
Born in Oakwood, Mr. O'Riley lived in Arden Heights for 38 years before moving to Charleston in 2014.
A graduate of New Dorp High School and the former Staten Island Community College, Mr. O'Riley was a police officer for the city police department for more than 15 years before retiring with a disability.
Mr. O'Riley enjoyed poker, golf, traveling to his vacation home in Las Vegas and spending time with his family.
He served in the Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Brown, in 2007. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Eileen; his sons, Craig O'Riley, and Adam Brown; his daughters, Jill McDonald and Corinne Cavuoti, and 10 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Arrangements include cremation.
