Robert "Bob" Omundsen, 85, of Sunset Park Brooklyn, passed away on April 11, 2024, in Staten Island, NY. He was born on September 29, 1938. Bob, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, was known for his kind and generous nature.
Bob proudly served in the United States Army as an engineer from 1962 to 1964. He was a master carpenter by trade and built the house where his family resides today. Bob also worked as a forklift engineer at Macy's warehouse and at Mount Loretto as a carpenter. In his free time, Bob enjoyed building birdhouses, fishing, gardening, attending plays, and pursuing his passion for carpentry. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons, Shane and Kyle, whom he taught valuable skills and shared stories of his life.
Bob is survived by his son Eric Omundsen, daughter-inlaw Letetia Omundsen, grandsons Shane and Kyle Omundsen, sister Evelyn Hunter, and 18 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Brian Omundsen, brother Richard Omundsen, sister Judy Olsen, brothers John and Bunna Omundsen, and sisters Margaret and Mary.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home in Staten Island, NY. Bob will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his craftsmanship, and his unwavering kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
