Richard A. Wolczanski, 41, a caring and helpful Tottenville resident, died Wednesday in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, N.J.
Born on Staten Island, Mr. Wolczanski lived in Tottenville, and briefly relocated to upstate New Paltz for two years in the early 1990s before returning to Tottenville.
He worked for various construction companies in New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Wolczanski attended the New York School of Culinary Arts in New Paltz after graduating from Tottenville High School.
He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family, friends and his dog.
He was loved by many, had many friends whom he always made laugh and he would do anything for anyone, said his sister, Kerri Ryan. He loved his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wolczanski was a parishioner at Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.
In addition to his sister, Kerri, surviving are his parents, Patricia and Richard Wolczanski; three brothers, Gary, Michael and David, and another sister, Sharon Wolczanski.
The funeral will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Arrangements include cremation.
