Raymond Ebro, 91, of Tottenville, a World War II veteran, retired U.S. Customs agent, security officer and family man, died Sunday at home.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, he moved to Tottenville in 2000.

A World War II veteran, Mr. Ebro served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. A rifleman in the 11th Armored Division, he saw duty in central Europe.

He worked for 22 years in the mail services department at the U.S. Customs Service. He then worked for 15 years as a security officer at Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan, retiring in 1990.

He was a member of the Mount Loretto Friendship Club.

A baseball fan, he rooted for the New York Yankees.

Mr. Ebro enjoyed playing pool and watching classic movies. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.

His wife of 63 years, the former Rose Fava, died in 2014.

Surviving are his son, Raymond; his daughter, Ava Marie Ebro; a sister, Yolanda Ebro, and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 12:15 p.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
