Beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle Philip John Carollo, of Tottenville, born April 29, 1972, age 49, passed away March 1, 2022 in Staten Island, New York.
Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Philip, most affectionately known as Phil, attended Xaverian High School. He held a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Phoenix and a Master’s Degree in Administration from The College of Staten Island. He also held a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology from St. John’s University
He worked as a principal of P.S. 56, an assistant principal of P.S. 22 and a teacher at P.S. 44.
Phil enjoyed being a father to his children, being “Uncle Phil” to his nieces and nephews , cooking for family and friends and providing a loving environment for all of his students at P.S. 56.
Phil is survived by his wife of 17 years, Erin Carollo. He is also survived by daughter Sophia Carollo, son Giovanni Carollo, father Giovanni Carollo, mother Pietra Carollo, sister MariaConcetta Cipriano, brother-in-law Anthony Cipriano, sister-in-law Jennifer Lioce, brother-in-law Chris Lioce, nephew Salvatore Cipriano, nephew John Cipriano, niece Cristina Cipriano, nephew Christopher Lioce, niece Jessica Lioce, great-nephew Antonino Cipriano, great-newphew Michael Cipriano, great-niece MariaLina Cipriano and great-niece Valentina Cipriano.
Services are being handled by Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Road, New York 10307 (718)984-0913. Visitation is Friday, March 4, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral is Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery.
Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
