Peter J. Mustacchia, 68, of Prince's Bay, a retired city Sanitation Department worker, died Tuesday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.
Born in Manhattan, Mr. Mustacchia lived in Brooklyn before moving to Staten Island 15 years ago. He lived in Oakwood for a short time before settling in Prince's Bay.
Mr. Mustacchia worked for the city's Sanitation Department for 25 years, retiring 18 years ago.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed going fishing, watching television, movies, and buying lottery tickets and visiting Atlantic City. He also enjoyed traveling with his family.
He loved being with family and making everyone laugh, said his daughter, Jessica Martins.
In addition to his daughter, Jessica, surviving are his wife of 34 years, the former Frances Vitale; a son, Thomas; a brother, John, and a sister, Roseann Lepani.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church. Cremation will follow in Rosehill Crematory, Linden, N.J.
