Onofria (Nora) D' Angelo, 69, of Staten Island, lost her courageous battle with cancer on September 18th at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sicily, Italy, Nora arrived in Brooklyn before moving to Staten Island with her husband, Anthony (Nino) D'Angelo, in 1985.
Nora was a loving, passionate, generous woman who welcomed all into her home and was best known for her amazing cooking and her very active role at Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church in Tottenville.
Nora was a woman devoted to her loving husband of 48 years and her two sons. She was an especially loving nonna (grandmother) to her grandchildren, Marcus and Lillian.
Nora is survived by her husband Nino, children Andre and Joseph, daughters in law, Jessica and Mikhael, and cherished grandchildren, Marcus and Lillian.
Funeral from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 22nd at 10:45 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 11 A.M. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM, 7 to 9 PM, and Wednesday from 9 AM to 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated in Onofria's memory.
