STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Nancy C. Reiss, 70, of Huguenot, a retired bank teller and bookkeeper who enjoyed spending time with family, died Thursday at home.
Born Nancy Ambler on Staten Island, she moved to Chula Vista, Calif., for five years during the 1960s and in the late 1960s returned to the Island and settled in Westerleigh. She also lived in Annadale before settling in Huguenot last year.
Mrs. Reiss worked as a teller for Citibank and then as a bookkeeper for Villa Marin GMC on Staten Island. She retired in 2005.
She graduated from Tottenville High School.
Mrs. Reiss enjoyed swimming, trips to the beach and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Harry Nilsen was a dear relative, said her son, Steven.
She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Great Kills.
In addition to her son, Steven, surviving are another son, Billy Nestved; a brother, Jack Ambler, and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.
