Former Pleasant Plains resident Nancy Burroughs, 74, of Manasquan, N.J., a homemaker who was caring, generous and nurturing, died Friday at home.
Born Nancy Knapp, she grew up in Annadale. After her marriage to Howard (Buzz) Burroughs, the couple lived in Pleasant Plains. She relocated to Manasquan five months ago.
She graduated from Tottenville High School.
A homemaker, she enjoyed quilting and made beautiful quilts for her family and friends. She also had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her garden as well as cooking.
She was a parishioner of Reformed Church of Huguenot Park, Huguenot.
Her husband of 52 years, Howard, died in 2013.
Surviving are her daughters, Lynn Cassidy, Karin Burroughs, and Kristin Burroughs; her father, Arthur Knapp; her sister, Jean Nutley, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Arrangements include cremation.
