Mildred Filocamo

Mildred Theresa Filocamo (nee Jacovino) of Tottenville, Staten Island passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021. Mildred "Millie" was born February 18, 1940, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Jacovino. She was born and raised in Manhattan, New York, in the section known Spanish Harlem. Mildred married her beloved husband Domenick Filocamo on December 7, 1968 and raised her family in Brooklyn, New York.

Millie spent her life devoted to raising her family, mostly in Brooklyn, then moving to Staten Island later on in life.

She lived an active lifestyle but loved spending her time with her family and friends the most. Her biggest joy was seeing her grandchildren and taking walks through the neighborhood. Holidays were especially important to her with the constant belief in family togetherness and values. Pasta Sundays were a given. She loved going to see Broadway shows as well as watching television.Soap operas, and classics such as The Odd Couple, The Honeymooners, Little House on the Prairie were among her favorites. Millie loved music such as Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Motown, and Doo Wop.

In addition to her mother and father, Millie was predeceased by her twin sister Marie and her brothers Michael and Robert. She is survived by her beloved husband Domenick of 52 years, her daughter Donna, son Christopher and wife Marguerite; three cherished grandchildren Christopher, Lauren, and Nicholas; brother and sister -in- laws, Louie, Frankie, Carmine, Christine and all of their beautiful children, and by many other family and friends as well. Let's also not forget her furry pet Smokey.
