STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Michael V. Wallace, 66, of Richmond Valley, a retired mechanical engineer, died Saturday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay.

Born in Manhattan, he also lived in Queens before he was brought to Tottenville as a child. He settled in Richmond Valley in 1985.

Mr. Wallace worked for six years as a mechanical engineer with Vitanza & Sons, Brooklyn. He retired in 2012.

Mr. Wallace served for a few years as a seamen in the Merchant Marine.

He was a member of the Staten Island Historical Society.

Mr. Wallace was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed sky-diving.

He always had a big smile on his face when he came into a room, said his son, Brian.

His wife of 38 years, the former Lucille Kilcullen, died in 2008.

In addition to his son, Brian, also surviving are another son, Kyle; one sister, Michelle Wallace; one brother, Kevin Wallace; four sisters, Sharon Thomas, Theresa Cassano, Nora Neglia and Maryanne Russo, and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Arrangements include cremation.

Services: A 10:00 AM Mass of christian Burial will be held Tuesday December 11, 2012 at Our Lady Help of Christian R. C. Church. Cremation will be Private.

Visitation: Friends will be recieved Monday December 10,2012. 2-4 & 7-9 PM

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations to Staten Island Hospital Employee Relief Fund would appreciated.
