STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Funeral arrangements have been set for Michael Francis Powers, 19, who was killed in an automobile accident on Friday in Forks Township, Pa.
Born in Arden Heights, he moved to Tatamy, Pa., in 2002.
Mr. Powers graduated from Nazareth (Pa.) Area High School, and had plans to enlist in the National Guard.
Mr. Powers loved listening to music, playing ice hockey, and watching the New York Jets and Mets. He especially cherished spending time with his family and friends.
"We will hold him in our hearts everyday of our lives," said his sister, Tara Condon.
He was a former parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.
In addition to his sister, Tara, surviving are his parents, Richard and Margaret Powers, and three brothers, Billy, Richard and Ryan.
The funeral will be tomorrow from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, L.I.
