Michael D. Moyle Businessman, NYFD firefighter, and 'his family's rock every single day,' of Tottenville Michael D. Moyle of Tottenville, Staten Island, N.Y., died suddenly on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, in Atlantic City. As a child, Michael grew up in many South Shore communities, primarily Tottenville. He graduated from Tottenville HS. As a teanager, he learned Judo, earning very high ranks. He married Michelle (nee Borriello) in 1988 and they built their dreams into a reality. He was a father like no other to his children, Michael, Frankie and Stephanie. They worshipped him and as his mother-in-law said, He deserved it. He was a fixture at all his children's sports: Farrell lacrosse, CYO basketball, flag football, soccer, SSLL and RCBC. Michael was an avid NY Giants fan. He took pride in his home and was able to fix or make anything, especially where his children were concerned. He was the sole proprietor of Mendola Waterproofing since 2001. and had many valued business relationships with his customers. He was a fair and honest businessman to a fault. He was a fireman with the FDNY for 17 years, spending his entire career, less one year, with his other family at Ladder 81/Engine 161 in South Beach, affectionately known as The Beach Boys, where he served as union delegate. He spent 2001 at Engine 1 in Manhattan, where he helped in the WTC recovery effort. He worked in Manhattan for UPS for 10 years prior to the FDNY. At a family BBQ last Sunday, he sat in his yard, looking around at everyone enjoying themselves, and remarked, This is what it's all about. He worked hard for all he had and he cherished it. He was cherished by his parents, Cookie and Ray Vomero; adored brother to Angela Mackie, Christy Alvarez, Dennis Unger and Clay Vomero; loving uncle to TJ, Katie, Ryan, Sienna and JC; dearest son-in-law to Barbara Borriello and Master to Roxy. Michael was quick with a joke and just as quick with a shoulder to lean on or a helping hand to all. He was his family's rock every single day.
