Michael J Haliskoe , 87, of Huguenot, a retired officer with the Triborough Bridge & Tunnel Authority who was devoted to his family, died Wednesday at home.
Born in Rosebank, he grew up in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn. In 1962, he returned to the Island, and lived in Grasmere for 18 months before settling in Huguenot.
Mr. Haliskoe graduated from St. Francis Preparatory School, Queens.
He worked for 12 years an officer with the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed photography and was a member of the Staten Island Photography Club. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus.
He also enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Haliskoe served in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. at the end of World War II.
He was a parishioner and an usher at Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy; his son, John; his daughter, Suzanne Holtje and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Huguenot. Burial will follow in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.
