Michael "Mike" Dellegrazie

After a two-year battle with cancer, Michael “Mike” Dellegrazie passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Mike was born on June 23, 1947 in Mola di Bari, Italy to his late parents Pietro and Sibilia Dellegrazie (nee Vitulli). In 1961, he had made the courageous journey aboard the USS Constitution to come to America. While in America he met his loving wife of 43 years, Lucille (nee Giurici) while on a blind date and they have been happily married ever since. Together they had two children Andrea Umbra (nee Dellegrazie), son in law Benny Umbra and a son Peter Dellegrazie. He was a strong man and handled all of his treatments and all of the obstacles that came his way. He was an avid gardener that loved to plant flowers and many different types of vegetables that he would share with others. He was also an avid Yankees fan and would always be found watching the game. He even tried to persuade his grandson Jojo to become a Yankee fan like him instead of a Mets fan. The thing he loved most was being a grandfather to his three grandchildren Nicolette, Juliana, and Joseph Umbra, who were the light of his life. He will be greatly missed but we know that he will live on in our hearts and guide us from above.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Pietro and Sibilia Dellegrazie, as well as his sister-in-law Roseanne Giurici. He is survived by his loving wife Lucille; his children Andrea (Benny) Umbra and Peter; his grandchildren Nicolette, Juliana and Joseph; his siblings Rosa Dellegrazie, Vito Dellegrazie, Angela Perrone, Dominick Dellegrazie, and Margaret Iacoviello; his brother in laws and sister in laws Joanne Dellegrazie, Domenic Perrone, Teresa Dellegrazie, Nicola Iacoviello, Dennis Giurici, Diane Barlow, William Barlow, Michael Giurici, Steven Giurici, and Diane Giurici, as well as many nieces and nephews.
