Michael N. Cipriani
January 24, 1965 – March 2, 2021
Michael Nicholas Cipriani, 56, a long-time resident of Staten Island, NY, passed on at home on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born on January 24, 1965 in Brooklyn, NY, as the first child of Frederico and Joyce Cipriani, both of whom predeceased him. He was married to the love of his life, soulmate, and best friend, Carol (nee Cappa), for nearly 30 years. In addition to Carol, Michael is survived by his three sons, Michael Jr., John, and Matthew, a brother, Fred (Regina) Cipriani, two sisters, DoriAnn (Mike) Flynn and Angela (Bill) Gibbons, a stepsister Heather Mateus, his Godparents, Aunt Michele (Vince) Baskerville, and Uncle Nicholas (Rosanne) Cipriani, beloved Aunt Georgina Fronte, uncles, in-laws, and 14 nieces and nephews.
After college, Michael spent his entire career in technology and was a dedicated employee of Bloomberg L.P. for the last 28 years. Michael’s magnetism, humor, endearing personality and genuine warmth can be credited for the countless lifelong friendships he built and maintained over the years. Michael’s closest friends were more like family members and called him by his nickname, “Costello” or just “Coz.” He was a modern-day Renaissance Man who was known for being a skillful grill master at summer BBQs, winemaker, carpenter, bowler, dart thrower, storyteller, gracious host, horseracing enthusiast, devoted NY Yankees fan, and overall lover of life. Following the passing of both his parents, Michael became the true patriarch of his family and was revered as a trusted leader who could be counted on for his sound advice and support. He loved his family and friends more than anything else and left a permanent, positive imprint on all the lives he touched.
