Michael P. Carr, III

On November 20th, our hearts were broken as our loving Michael Peter Carr gained his angel wings after putting up a valiant fight against a ruthless illness. An aspiring lawyer, “Mikey” attended St. John’s University where he proudly served as Vice President of his fraternity, Alpha Phi Delta. Michael graduated from the Scholars program at Monsignor Farrell High School where he ran on the outdoor track and field and cross-country track teams and earned membership to the National Honor Society. After Farrell, Mikey continued to live his life as “a faithful man”- Vir Fidelis. A life-long Staten Islander, Mikey was an amazing son to Michael and Laura Carr, and he continually made them proud in so many different ways. Mikey had many friends and activities, and you always knew when he was arriving because you heard the engine roar of his beloved striped Mustang. Even though school, work and activities kept him very busy, he always found time for his family. Whether it was cheering for the Rangers or Yankees with his dad, grandpa, and cousins, dyeing Easter eggs at his grandma’s house, or bowling with his cousin and best friend C.J., Mikey loved and valued his family. He enjoyed sharing silly jokes with his big sister Caitlyn and teaching her how to play video games. Mikey shared many happy times with his girlfriend Stephanie. Michael will be missed by so many, but especially by his mom and dad, Laura and Mike Carr; his loving sister, Caitlyn; his grandparents, Joyce and Walter; his aunts and uncles, Lisa, Chris, Erin, Robbie, Kevin, Walter, and Kim; his beloved cousins Michael, Allison, Kayla, C.J., Justin, and Thomas; and so many special friends. If you knew Mikey, you were very lucky. He was truly one of a kind. While we are all incredibly sad, we hope that when you remember him, you cherish the memories and smile. In this way, we can have him live on in our hearts. God bless our new Guardian Angel Michael.
