Mary Thomas

Mary Thomas, born on March 29, 1941, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 11th in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania surrounded by her children. Daughter of the late William and Mary Neher, she was born in Manhattan. She is predeceased by her husband, Cecil, and brothers Albert and Kevin. She graduated New Dorp High School and was proud of her stellar attendance record.

She grew up in Old Town and was a homemaker with various part time jobs. Mary married Cecil Thomas of Tulsa, Oklahoma who passed in 2010.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and many pets. She attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Eltingville, where she had many friends. Mary enjoyed thrift shopping with her son Gary, wrestling, and a delicious lobster meal.

She is survived by her five children: William Thomas, Victoria (Ronald) MacDonald, Steven (Laura) Thomas, Gary Thomas, and Karen (Alan) Brady, ten “grand-babies”, four great-grandchildren, and sister MaryAnn Battista.

Mary will be remembered at a service on Sunday September 15, 2024 at Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home at 7447 Amboy Road. Friends and Family may visit from 2-4 7-9 on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
