STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Mary Agnes Stock, 87, a retired New York Police Department aide and former Staten Islander, died yesterday at her Shirley, N.Y home.
Born Mary Snyder in Brooklyn, she moved to Tottenville in 1955, and lived there until relocating to Shirley in 2009.
Mrs. Stock graduated from Fort Hamilton High School, Brooklyn. During World War II, she worked in a civil defense plant, making bombsights.
She later worked as a senior police administrative aide at the 123 Precinct stationhouse in Tottenville, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Stock enjoyed cooking and shopping, and had a unique and witty sense of humor.
She was a parishioner at Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.
Her husband of 31 years, George M. Stock, died in 1978. A daughter, Susan Gennaro, died in 1991, and a son, Jack Stock, died in 2006.
Surviving are her sons George and Walter; her daughter, Catherine Hawkins; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is Thursday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville with a mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church. Burial will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I.
