Mary Salhany

Mary Salhany Beloved mother and grandmother Mary Salhany passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 22, 2016, surrounded by her family, at Richmond University Medical Center, after a brief illness. Mrs. Salhany was pre-deceased by her husband of 37 years, Albert. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Ronald and Lila Salhany, Deacon Richard Salhany and Dr. Constance Salhany, Robert and Lisa Salhany; she was predeceased by her son, Albert Salhany, Jr. She is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Zamalkany, and sister, Roseanne Angelico. Mrs. Salhany was born in Brooklyn and raised her family in Eltingville, Staten Island, N.Y. She enjoyed gardening, music, needlepoint, and cooking as well as socializing with her many friends at Harbor House Assisted Living. Viewing will be at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Road, S.I., on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, Sept. 26, at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, 355 State St., Brooklyn, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery on Staten Island. Family is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Richmond University Medical Center new emergency room project in her memory.

Visitation: Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm a Bedell- Pizzo Funeral Home. Monday visiting at St. Nicholas Cathedral from 8:30 -9:30 AM
