Native Staten Islander Mary R. Frank, 84, of Holmdel, N.J., a retired executive secretary who was devoted to her family and her faith, died Tuesday in Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, N.J.
Born Mary Rose SanNicola in Concord, moved to West Brighton,where she was raised. After her marriage she moved to South Beach , where she raised her family until 1978, when she relocated to Ocala, Fla. She settled in Holmdel in 2014.
She graduated from Port Richmond High School and the Katharine Gibbs School, Manhattan.
Mrs. Frank worked as an executive secretary for several Island companies, including the former Jaeger Wilpon, Inc. and Sun Chemical. She retired in 1978.
In Florida, she was a parishioner of Queen of Peace R.C. Church, Ocala, where she sang in the choir.
Mrs. Frank enjoyed crocheting, painting, collecting angel statues, and caring for her dogs, Clara and Star.
She enjoyed reading the Bible and prayed the rosary every day.
Her husband, Phillip, died in 2014. She also was preceded in death by her son, Robert Anthony Gaeta, in 1957.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen Pizzo and Christine Scordato,her step-daughters Linda Frank,Arlene Holler; a sister Elena Scamardella, and six grandchildren,Jessica, Jillian, Thomas, Kelly, Kimberly and Michelle.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, with a mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, both Tottenville. Cremation will be handled by Rosehill Crematory, Linden, N.J.
