Native Staten Islander Marjorie Linane, 86, of Tottenville, a homemaker, died Saturday in Golden Gate Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Meiers Corners, where she had been living since last August.
Born Marjorie Glisman in Prince's Bay, she settled in Tottenville in 1950, and was a graduate of Tottenville High School.
Mrs. Linane worked as an operator with the former New York Telephone Company, and the former S.S. White Dental Co., Prince's Bay.
She was a member of the Tottenville chapter of the AARP, and the Mount Loretto Friendship Club.
For many years, Mrs. Linane belonged to the South Shore Swim Club. She also enjoyed spending summers at the Jersey Shore with her family.
Mrs. Linane liked gardening and cooking - she was known for her fresh apple pie and Sunday roast beef dinners.
She was known in our family as 'Aunt Marge' because at one time or another she took care of all her nieces and nephews, said her son, Kevin.
Mrs. Linane was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville.
Her husband, William, died in 1994.
In addition to her son, Mrs. Linane is survived by a sister, Doris Kosma.
Funeral arrangements, which include cremation, are being handled by Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville.
