Native Staten Islander Marjorie T. Coller, 86, a homemaker and a retired city school aide, died Wednesday in her Prince's Bay home.
Born Marjorie T. Bazzurro in Grasmere, she settled in Prince's Bay in 1961.
A homemaker, Mrs. Coller later entered the workforce employed for 25 years as a school aide with the New York City Board of Education working at PS 5 in Huguenot and PS 36, Annadale. She retired in 1992.
In the 1940s, she worked at the former TB clinic at the former Sea View Hospital.
Mrs. Coller was a longtime docent at the Staten Island Zoo in West Brighton.
She was a parishioner of Holy Child R.C. Church, Eltingville, and a former a parishioner of St. Sylvester's R.C. Church, Concord.
Mrs. Coller enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling.
She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a warm and loving person who always put family first in her life, said her son, Mark Coller.
Her husband of 38 years, Aaron, died in 1991.
Along with her son, Mark, also surviving are two more sons, Brian and Jay; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.
