Marie Claire Galbraith, 94, of Tottenville, died Thursday in the Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Egbertville.
Born Marie Claire Drennan in Pleasant Plains, she moved to Tottenville 30 years ago.
She worked as a clerk at Metropolitan Life Insurance for 20 years, and previously had been a dietitian at the former St. Vincent's Hospital, now Richmond University Medical Center, in the early 1960s. Mrs. Galbraith enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles and opera music. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
Her husband, George, died 1965.
Surviving are her son, David; her daughters, Jean Tyrulis and Patricia Caldari; her brother, Richard; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
