Marie Conniff

Marie Conniff (née Dougher), 85, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2024.

Marie was born on January 7, 1939, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Patrick and Gertrude (née O'Leary) Dougher. She grew up in a close-knit family and carried the values of love and devotion throughout her life. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Daniel J. Conniff, and together they built a beautiful family.

Marie was the strongest person her family knew, always caring deeply for those around her. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she placed her family at the heart of everything she did. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, and her son, Donald Scott Conniff, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her loving children, Lynette Powell and Daniel P. Conniff and his wife, Linda Conniff. She was the proud grandmother of Danielle Smith, Kimberly Kanber, Tara Deen, Lauren Martin, and Jessica Conniff, and the great-grandmother of Stella, Scott, and Scarlett Smith, and Elliot Deen. Marie cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passing on her wisdom, gentle guidance, and deep care.

A visitation will be held at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Sunday, September 29th, from 3 PM to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, September 30th, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sgt. Donald Scott Conniff Foundation, in honor of her late son. Checks can be mailed to 21 Brighton Street, Staten Island, NY 10307.

Marie will always be remembered for her unwavering strength, her deep care for her family, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy will live on through her family and the love she leaves behind.
