Maria Rosa DiStefano

Maria Rosa Di Stefano was born on May 9, 1936 and passed away peacefully on August 13th, 2024.  She was born, grew up and was married in the small town of Licodia Eubea in Sicily, Italy.  She married Giovanni Di Stefano on June 16th, 1962 and they were married for 62 wonderful years.  She was courageous and traveled on the Atlantic Ocean to the United States of America in 1963 to start a new life with her husband, and start a family.

She will always be remembered as a precious and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Maria Rosa was a devoted mother to four children: Maria married to Thomas Orlando; Albert married to Angela; John married to Maria; Sarina married to James Nelson.  She was a cherished grandmother to her nine grandchildren: Denise, Vincent, John, GinaMarie, John, Brianna, Mariella, Nicholas and James.  She was adored by her three great grandchildren: Vincenzo, Nathan and Emily.

Maria Rosa was greatly loved by all who knew her. She was a marvelous homemaker. She was known for her delicious meatballs, her flavorful sauce, yummy chicken cutlets and her famous "Grandma Cake".

Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family, whom she loved all so very much. She was devoted to Saint Padre Pio and the Virgin Mary. She enjoyed completing word-find puzzles, watching her soap operas and all the Italian Channels, as well as cheering on her favorite team, the New York Yankees.

Maria Rosa will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.
