STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Margaret Rita Zsuffa, 70, a former Tottenville resident died yesterday at home in Blandon, Pa., after a long illness.
Born Margaret McInally in West Brighton, she graduated from Curtis High School. Mrs. Zsuffa was a secretary with the New York State Department of Correctional Services at Arthur Kill Correctional Facility, Charleston. She retired in 1990.
She moved to Tottenville in 1961 and settled in Blandon in 2001.
"She loved having family and friends over for big barbecues. Friends will remember her sense of humor and compassion," said her daughter, Doreen Fedora.
Mrs. Zsuffa was a parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church when she lived in Tottenville. She was a parishioner of Holy Guardian Angel since moving to Blandon.
In addition to her daughter, Doreen, surviving are her husband of 50 years, Richard S.; a son, Richard W.; two more daughters, Gloria Volsario and Dawn O'Keefe; two sisters, Dorothy Garcia and Patricia Santiago, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, both in Tottenville. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
