Margaret Rose Reese, 82, of Tottenville, a retired bartender and the matriarch of three generations of family, died Wednesday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay.
Born Margaret Rose Steinert in the Ozone Park section of Queens, and raised in Brooklyn, she settled in Tottenville 43 years ago.
She worked as a bartender for many years at the former Rockaway Cove in Tottenville, retiring in 1992.
Family was her highest priority. She loved being a mother and grandmother, her family said.
She was also fond of animals, and enjoyed the companionship of her cat, Ewan and pet dog, Bebe, a Boston terrier. In addition, she enjoyed watching the television drama, Outlander.
She is survived by her daughters; Gina O'Keefe and Laura Davis; her brother, Philip Steinert; her sisters, Mathilda Stissi and Charlotte Garafolo; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Burial will be in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn.
