Marcella Irene Lawless, 77, of Annadale, a former purchasing agent and crossing guard, died Monday in Staten Island University Hospital, Prince's Bay.
Born Marcella Komar in Manhattan, she graduated from Grace H. Dodge Vocational High School in the Bronx. She lived in the Bronx and in Queens before moving to Annadale in 2001.
She worked as a purchasing agent for Canover Paper Co. and Lark Luggage. She also worked as a crossing guard in Queens. She retired in 1999.
Mrs. Lawless was a member of the Red Hat Society; the Greek Senior Club; the Our Lady Star of the Sea 50 Plus Club, and several AARP chapters.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.
Mrs. Lawless enjoyed going to the theater, opera and the movies, dancing and traveling. She was an avid bowler and an accomplished painter.
Her husband of 44 years, Patrick J. Lawless, died in 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Patrick and Steven; two brothers, James and David Komar; a sister, Mary Ann Krasnow; two grandchildren, and her companion, Vito Cusamano.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Arrangements include cremation.
