Madalyn Castelucci

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Native Staten Islander Madalyn T. Castelucci, 64, a retired legal secretary, died yesterday in her home in Huguenot.

Born in Rosebank, she settled to Huguenot in 1977.

Ms. Castelucci worked as a legal secretary for various law firms, including working for two private lawyers on the Island. She completed her career working for 12 years with the law firm of Michael E. Pressman, Manhattan, before retiring last year.

Ms. Castelucci graduated from Curtis High School. While there, she was a member of the boosters. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.

Ms. Castelucci was a great cook, according to family, and was renowned for her homemade manicotti.

Ms. Castelucci was also an avid reader who loved solving the New York Times crossword puzzle. She also enjoyed traveling throughout Europe when she was younger. When she was older, she took a cruise with one of her daughters to Bermuda and she also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas.

"A wonderful mother and friend who always put her family first," said her daughter, Christine Bottiglia.

"She was a wonderful sister, kind-hearted and would do everything and anything for anyone," said her brother, Matthew John Castelucci.

Along with her daughter, Christine and her brother, Matthew, also surviving are three other daughters, Catherine, Elizabeth and Laura Bottiglia, and another brother, Gerard.

The funeral will be Friday from the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville, with a mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
