Lucy Barracato (nee Pizzo) passed away on Sept. 23, 2016, at Addeo House Hospice. She was born on Jan. 30, 1917, in the Belmont section of the Bronx to Giusseppe Pizzo and Elizabeth Traina.
She moved to New Brighton, Staten Island, N.Y., in 1919 and resided there until 2003. She met and married Novello (Ben) Barracato in May 1936. They were married for 55 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Novello; her son, Nicholas; her siblings, Joe, Mamie, Rocco, Vincent and George; her son-in-law, Frank Paoluccio, and daughter-in-law, Maria (Bunny) Barracato.
Lucy is survived by her daughter, Margaret Paoluccio, and sons, Nick and Joe, along with her daughter-in-law, Maria. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Alfred and Dr. Edward Pizzo; sisters-in-law, Frances, Ann, Barbara Pizzo, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Lucy was an accomplished designer and seamstress. She was employed by Doctors Hospital of S.I. for many years. She retired in 1984 to care for her husband.
Lucy was an inspiration to her entire family and was most proud of having reached five generations several times.
She was loving and caring and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Assumption Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.

Services: There will be a mass of Christian burial on Tuesday at 11:30 AM in Assumption Church. Internment to follow at St. Peters Cemetery.

Visitation: Funeral visitation will be held at Bedell- Pizzo Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9PM.
