Louis Casale (October 27, 1940 – January 10, 2025)
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Louis (Louie) Casale who left us peacefully surrounded by family on January 10, 2025. Born on October 27, 1940, he was the first born son of Anthony and Anna Casale. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and has been a resident of Staten Island, New York for the last twenty-nine years. Louie always had an incredible talent for making connections with everyone he met. His career started as a salesman at Artway Shoe Repair in the Midwood section of Brooklyn at Newkirk Plaza. He worked side-by- side with his beloved father, a shoemaker from Italy whom he was very close with, until his father's passing.
As the eldest of five children, cherished siblings are Apollonia, also known as Bella (Lawrence) Frein, Geraldine (Roger) Tooze, Gennaro, also known as Jerry (Mariann) Casale, and Anthony, also known as Tony (Petra) Casale. He carried the values of family loyalty and Catholic faith throughout his life. He was a very devoted and loving father (along with his former spouse, Frances Casale) to his daughters Ann (Eric Stofflet) and Laura (Eric Maida). Louie had tremendous pride and affection for his 3 beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Maida, Brianna Maida, and Emily Stofflet. Louie had many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all with whom he had an unbreakable bond and who he loved so much.
A well-known figure throughout Staten Island, Louie was beloved by all who crossed his path. He was deeply rooted in his community and very well-known for his advice, warmth, generosity, humor, and unwavering kindness. His gentle, soft-spoken spirit was evident in all his interactions, making him a friend to everyone. He had the ability to brighten any room with his presence and possessed the innate ability to make others feel important, valued and appreciated. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Louie’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
