Lorraine Alice Rokicki

Lorraine Alice Rokicki (nee: Goffin), 75, passed away at Staten Island University Hospital Ocean Breeze after a short illness on September 15, 2023.
Lorraine was born on September 5, 1948 to Alice and Alfred Goffin. The family lived in Port Richmond with her bothers. She graduated from Port Richmond High School, Class of 1966 and was a lifelong Staten Islander.
Lorraine married Walter (Spike) Rokicki on March 2, 1968 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church and remained married until Walter’s death in 2003.
Lorraine was a homemaker raising her children until 1991 when she reentered the workforce as a secretary at Staten Island University Hospital Princes Bay. She continued to work until her retirement in 2016.
Lorraine and Spike settled in Travis and moved to Rossville in 1986. They enjoyed traveling to Maine on vacations and taking trips to Upstate New York to visit family. Lorraine grew up spending summers on the Jersey shore. She enjoyed crocheting, going to the movies and outings with family and was an avid reader, always with a cup of tea. She loved watching Fox News to keep up to date on world events and Jeopardy to challenge her knowledge. Lorraine taught CCD at St. Joseph St. Thomas Church. Lorraine was member of the Red Hat Society of Staten Island, the Ladies of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Bridget No. 4 as well as a book club.
Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Carol, Elizabeth and Stephanie; grandchildren, Jesse, Christian (Madison), who affectionately called her G-Swag, and the apple of her eye, her great granddaughter, Valentina. She is also survived by her brother Raymond (Babette) and numerous nieces and nephews as well as her aunt, Emma Nichol. Lorraine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter; her brother, Alfred and her parents, Alice and Alfred.
At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and/or Wounded Warriors Project in Lorraine’s name.
