Staten Island resident and volunteer, 'known for her big heart'
Loretta B. Pompa, 83, of Eltingville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018.
Loretta was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Pompa. She is survived by her children, Rocco Pompa and his wife, Susan, and Laura Sorensen and her husband, Henry; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Born in Scranton, Pa., Loretta made Staten Island, N.Y., her home with her husband, Joseph.
Loretta was known for her big heart, evident in her volunteer work and those she touched in her community and church. She was president and district deputy of the Columbiettes, Staten Island Chapter. She enjoyed traveling, especially vacations to Florida, Maryland, and Lake George, with her beloved family, dancing, and singing to her great-grandchildren.
Funeral is from Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial is at Holy Child R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
