Linda M. Hart, 71, of Brandon, Fla., a retired social services case manager and a loving wife, sister and aunt, died Friday in Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Linda Fredericks in Plainfield, N.J., she was brought to New Dorp as a girl and grew up there. She and David M. Hart married in 1969 and moved to Prince's Bay. She relocated to Brandon in 1978 and entered the nursing home three weeks ago.
A graduate of New Dorp High School, she attended Hunter College, Manhattan, and earned an associate's degree in biology from Brooklyn College.
Mrs. Hart first worked at Sun Chemical in Rosebank, then became a case manager in St. George for the city Social Services department.
After moving to Florida, she worked in the same capacity in Plant City. She retired in 2002.
Mrs. Hart enjoyed bowling in leagues on the Island and in Florida. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, and was a doting aunt to her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
While living on the Island, she was a parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church, Stapleton. In Brandon, she attended St. Andrew's Lutheran Church.
Surviving, along with David, her husband of 45 years, are her brother, Frank Karpick, and her four sisters, Martha Hampton, Janice Zanelotti, Joan Lane and Kathy Cotter.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, Tottenville. Burial will follow in Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Linden, N.J.
