With hearts full of love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Linda Codispoti, a woman whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and friends made the world a brighter place. She was the definition of grace, with a heart so full of love that everyone who met her felt instantly welcomed and cherished. Linda was a woman of quiet strength, boundless generosity, and a loving spirit that left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Linda was blessed to be raised by Evelyn and Fred Alviar, who gave her a home filled with love, guidance, and the values that shaped the incredible woman she became. She carried these lessons with her throughout her life, always putting others first and creating a home filled with warmth and joy.
She dedicated twenty-five years to the New York City Board of Education, including her time at I.S.34, before retiring in 2001. As a school secretary, she was the heart of the office. Always ready with a smile, a kind word, and a helping hand. She built lifelong friendships with colleagues and left a mark on generations of students through her warmth and care.
Her dedication to family and community extended far beyond her career. She was an active and passionate member of various organizations. She served two years as President of the Staten Island South Shore Grandmother's Club and two years as Vice-President. She was also the President of the Red Hat Society. Linda loved bringing people together, creating lifelong friendships, and sharing in the joy of community.
Above all, Linda was devoted to her beloved husband, Frank Codispoti, with whom she shared sixty-two wonderful years of marriage. A true love story. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and family traditions. She was a loving mother to Marc, Lisa, and Steven, and embraced their spouses, Nina, Christopher, and Christine as her own. She was also a devoted grandmother who loved and adored Christina, Lauren, Michael, Kaitlyn, Sara, Kelly, Evelyn, Marybeth, and Kimberly. She also loved her three grandsons-in-law, Preston, Nick, and Zack. She was blessed with her great-grandson, Kai, whom she loved deeply and who brought her so much joy.
Linda found immense joy in traveling with her husband, Frank. They loved making memories together, enjoying dinners with the Amici Club , and simply cherishing each other's company. Their bond was one of deep love and a shared appreciation for life's simple joys.
Linda's love, kindness, and generosity will continue to shine through the family she adored and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will forever be carried in the hearts of those who love her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Fr. Steven Ryan, SDB, Archbishop Shaw High School , 1000 Salesian Lane Marrero.LA 70072, in Linda's name would be appreciated.
